-Monster Fibula report

History[edit | edit source]

Combat[edit | edit source]

The boss is usually airborne and can only be damaged through its eyes, preventing it from being hit through most means. It can use various minor enemies as projectiles, but each has a different attack pattern. The Shokat projectile is fired out of a gun and will dash back to the gun to be "reloaded" for additional shots. The Frobbit projectile deals Wave damage and lands on the player from above, preventing it from being guarded. The Pengpeng projectile can create ice spikes on the ground that can deal damage if touched. For its melee, it will chase the player and slam its eyes onto the ground, generating an unblockable shockwave. After a string of these melee slams, the eyes will become immobilized on the ground, though later phases will also have fake explosive eyes summoned. When the boss is broken in later phases, it will summon fake eyes to distract the player, though the real eyes always have a pained look.

The window of opportunity to hit the eyes is rather small, but if the boss has arrow pointing towards it, it's possible to use its lower body as a platform to extend the vulnerability duration of the eyes. However, the boss will shortly counter with an explosion if the player stands on its lower body for too long.

Strategies[edit | edit source]

When the boss uses its clones, it's possible to use the Quick menu to see which pair of eyes has a level display, indicating that it's the real one. If dodging its attacks is too hard, all projectiles except for the Frobbit can be blocked, though the Shokat projectile could last long enough to break the player's guard.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The monster fibula report is a usage of "Lorem ipsum": nonsense placeholder text derived from a corrupted version of De finibus bonorum et malorum and used to simulate the form and typeface of a final print.
