There are six Cold Melee Combat Arts available to Spheromancers: two first-level, two second-level, and two third-level arts. You can have only one of each level active at a time.

Ice Twirl[ | ]

LVL 1 CP 1 SP 1 DMG Melee Cold Melee

Performs a stationary ice whirl attack with wide range and strong knockback.

Ice Twirl

Lea spins in place, sweeping a full turn and a half crossing in front of her as an icy whirl attack in a large radius around her, damaging and knocking back enemies.

Ice Twirl looks like a wider, stationary Spin Dance, but functionally has more in common with Proximity Blast, with less knockback. Ice Twirl's same wide radius clears out space around Lea, hitting twice in front of her sending enemies almost as far. It reaches just past Brisk Barrier's icicles, if you need to keep enemies back to preserve the wall.

Frozen Star[ | ]

Frozen Star-icon
LVL 1 CP 1 SP 1 DMG Melee EFFECTS Inflicts ChillInflicts Chill Cold Melee

Long startup time for massive damage.

Frozen Star

Lea steps forward and charges up a snowball in front of her for a second. Ice then bursts from the ball in the shape of a star, knocking enemies straight up into the air dealing massive damage and Chill. Lea can be interrupted while she is charging.

Inspired by Sphere Saw, Frozen Star deals much more damage to more enemies at once, in exchange for a vulnerable startup and no knockback. Frozen Star capitalizes on the unique advantages of Cold to deliver risky delayed nukes on all enemies in front of Lea. She can afford to do this when her foes are hobbled by icicles and Chill, or simply frozen solid. You can invest in Iron Stance to resist interruption from weak attacks, and also consider canceling the attack if you run into trouble.

Ice Tornado[ | ]

LVL 2 CP 2 SP 3 DMG Melee Cold Melee

Extend the Ice Twirl by sucking in enemies with multiple hits and then ejecting them.

Ice Tornado

Lea makes a few sweeping spins in place, the same radius as Ice Twirl. All enemies within a radius a little past this are pulled inwards and held at Lea's melee range. Lea finishes with a reverse spin knocking them all away.

Ice Tornado behaves somewhat like Vortex Blast, but with much less pull radius and knockback and more damage. Its pull-and-push action switches the paradigm in regards to icicles: pull to impale them in front, and push to impale from behind, for a little extra damage and Chill that might otherwise go to waste.

Blizzard Hawk[ | ]

LVL 2 CP 2 SP 3 DMG Melee EFFECTS Interrupt iconInterrupt Inflicts ChillInflicts Chill Cold Melee

Take a stand and do massive damage with 3 frozen stars.

Blizzard Hawk

Lea steps forward and charges up a snowball in front of her for a second. Ice then bursts from the ball three times in succession in the shape of stars, lifting enemies into the air before encasing them in ice. When they hit the ground, the ice shatters and they take more Chill and damage. Lea can be interrupted while she is charging.

Blizzard Hawk has a tighter radius than Frozen Star that will hit fewer enemies, in exchange for over triple the damage. You should still hold off on this until enemies are slowed, immobilized, or broken.

Apollo uses Blizzard Hawk during his third duel against Lea, after successfully perfect guarding one of her melee attacks.

Polar Pirouette[ | ]

Polar-pirouette-icon
LVL 3 CP 3 SP 6 DMG Melee Cold Melee

Begin a dance of multiple huge ice whirl attacks and lock enemies in and end it all with a massive pirouette that blast enemies away.

Polar Pirouette

Lea makes several enormous sweeping icy whirl attacks, slowly at first, but with increasing frequency until she is spinning like a tornado, drawing nearby enemies into her melee range the whole time. Lea can move during this time, sliding as if she were on ice. She suddenly stops for a moment, then makes one final sweep knocking enemies away.

The ability to move while performing Polar Pirouette is an interesting change. You can dodge a little, and get closer to enemies further away, taking control of areas past this art's radius that already surpasses Ice Tornado's. You can pull enemies behind you a little, gathering everything together from far and wide, and even dash away before the knockback sweep so they are all gathered in a clump for further attacks.

Eternal Winter[ | ]

LVL 3 CP 3 SP 6 DMG Melee EFFECTS Lock iconLock Inflicts ChillInflicts Chill Cold Melee

Take a stand and conjure a massive frozen ice spear from the ground that impales enemies.

Eternal Winter

Lea steps forward and charges up a snowball in front of her for a second. Ice then bursts from the ball in the shape of a star, dealing damage and Chill. Ice crystals linger in the air for another second, then a huge spire of ice erupts from the ground, thrusting enemies together and up high into the air. The spire collapses, releasing enemies and damaging them again.

Lea is not easily interrupted while she is charging, unlike lower versions. Eternal Winter's radius is close to that of Frozen Star's, and, curiously, pushes its victims into a tight cluster.
