The Angler is an organic enemy in CrossWorlds. They can be found in Gaia's Garden.

Angler
Coming right at you from the deep, this angler fish found its way into the jungle and lives primarily in the rainy part of it. It mostly stays passive unless provoked in which case it will try to stay away and shoot wave projectiles at you. Shoot at it until it becomes mad and charges at you to release a large scream. Dodge it and melee attack it to break its guard.

Appearance[ | ]

The Angler is a medium sized floating fish, similar in appearance to the real-world anglerfish it was named after. It is primarily coloured in dark teal and light green, with glowing white eyes and a bulb hanging in front of its head.

Combat[ | ]

Anglers are relatively passive Wave-based ranged fighters. If a player gets too close, they will fly away. While at a distance, they shoot small homing projectiles. Hitting it with enough Balls will cause it to break, approach the player and emit a deadly screech at them. Afterwards, they become vulnerable to a second break that will stun them.

Strategies[ | ]

Don't use any element on them until you get them to scream since they are pretty resistant and evasive while they are not broken, which can cause you an Elemental Overload. You can still use a powerful Combat Art in case they are passive to start the fight with an advantage. Equipment with the Riposte modifier will allow you to Perfect Guard all of its projectiles in a single use of your shield.
