The Blue Ray is an organic enemy in CrossWorlds. They can be encountered in the So'najiz Temple and the Grand Krys'kajo.

Organic
Blue Ray

This fish is capable of diving into any surface by moving into a higher dimension. The only thing alerting of its presence is the looming shadow. It will attack with various wave-elemental attacks while hiding below ground. The only way to lure it out is by using dischargers. They will be stunned for a short while from the shock, use this window to deal as much damage as you can.

-Monster Fibula report

Appearance[ | ]

The Blue Ray's appearance is based on giant manta rays. It has a teal triangular body, a small tail and a pair of extensions next to its mouth, along with green eyes and Wave-releasing accents on its fins.

Combat[ | ]

This enemy always stays underground with only its shadow being visible and heals while in this state. It becomes aggressive when the player gets too close and attacks by occasionally jumping in place to shoot a single big, slightly homing Wave projectile. To pull it out of its hiding, the player needs to activate a Tesla Coil Source, which will activate a Tesla Coil Discharge that deals Shock damage in an area and causes the Blue Ray to break and get stunned. After snapping out of it, it can surround itself with a Wave aura and dash into the player, releasing an explosion and three non-homing projectiles. It does this twice before going back into hiding.

Strategies[ | ]

The Tesla Coil Discharge will only stun them if they're close enough, so lure them while the Compressed Shock Ball travels to its destination. Since their jump attack is rather infrequent, other enemies can be prioritized during a fight, like Powerplants or Ocubepuses.
